Obituary for Michael Richard Davies

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Michael Richard Davies, a resident of Dutchess County since 1987, formerly of Redondo Beach, CA and Mahopac, died at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan on Friday, September 14, 2018. He was 59.

Michael was born in Syracuse on December 22, 1958. His family later relocated to the Hudson Valley, where he graduated from Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak and later attended Dutchess Commuity College in Poughkeepsie.

He worked for many years in the management department at Alliance Inspection Management in Newburgh.

Michael enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid reader and trivia player and loved to ride his Suzuki motorcycle. He had many great memories of playing golf alongside his brother. More than anything else, he truly cherished spending time with his family.

On May 5, 1984, he married Christine M. Joyce in Redondo Beach, CA. Christine survives at home in Hopewell Junction.

Additional survivors include his daughter, Taylor Davies of Redondo Beach, CA; his granddaughter, Olivia; his parents, Robert and Frances (Zampino) Davies of Mahopac; his father-in-law, Paul Joyce of Denver, CO; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Davies of Brewster, Stephen & Paulette Joyce of Prescott, AZ, Susan Dimitry of Des Moines, IA, Mary & Bob Micheals of Rogers, AR, and Katy Joyce of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Davies, on September 24, 2012.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill.
