Obituary for Michael Patrick Leigh

Michael Patrick  Leigh
BEEKMAN - Michael Patrick Leigh, 54, an area resident for 18 years and formerly of Cold Spring, died peacefully at his home on August 6, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Michael was employed as a Journeyman Carpenter for Local #279. Following his retirement, he worked for Williams Lumber as a Yard Associate. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Garrison Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed playing hockey, and was a fan of the New York Rangers and Buffalo Bills. He will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor, and especially for his love of his family.
Born in White Plains on August 17, 1962, he was the son of Patrick and Victoria (Bellantoni) Leigh. On October 25, 1986 at St. John’s Church in Mahopac, Michael married Beth Blazek who survives at home. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Leigh of South Carolina, Marissa Leigh of South Carolina, and Christopher Leigh at home; his brother, Thomas Leigh of Peekskill; his sister, Patricia Stanek and her husband Michael of Hopewell Junction; his mother-in-law, Beth Blazek; his nieces and nephews, Danny, Katrina, Joseph, Tommy, Tyler, Michael and Emily; his godchildren, Steven Erker and Meghan Blomquist; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa Raphael, Diane and Joseph Shubert, Andrew and Lila Blazek; his grandmother-in-law, Helen Innocenti; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and wonderful neighbors.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
