Obituary for Louise Caroline Mostransky

Louise Caroline Mostransky
Louise Caroline Mostransky, 94, of Poughkeepsie, passed away from this life into the next on July 10, 2017 at her home at The Manor at Woodside.

Louise was born June 19, 1923 in Catskill, the daughter of Delphine (Sigworth) & Chester Fredenburgh. She graduated from Catskill High School in 1941. Her first job was at JJ Newbury's as a clerk. When WWII came, she worked at the Watervliet Arsenal. The highlight of this job was meeting her husband, Mike Mostransky. They eloped August 7, 1943 in Lake George. They resided in Pittsfield, MA and moved to New Paltz when they both worked at the newly formed IBM in Kingston. They were happily married for 36 years. Louise was a Secretary & member of the Quarter Century Club @ IBM. Louise enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, cooking, food, playing Bingo & Pokeno. She was active in the Neighborly Centers in Seminole, FL and Chatham while residing there. She also enjoyed knitting patterned Mary Maxim sweaters for her grandsons! There was Mickey, Pluto, Star Wars, a Train, raccoon, etc.

Louise is survived by her son, Mike Mostransky and his wife Beth of Poughkeepsie; 4 grandsons, Michael C. (Tara) of Wantagh, Marc S. (Meegan) of Niskayuna, Kyle R. (Elissa) of South Huntington, & Robert E. (Rachel) of Brooklyn; and 10 great-grandchildren who loved to come and see Grandma LuLu at The Manor: Michael, Grant, Evan, Marissa, September, Kashius, Kellan, Jason, Eric, and Ashley. Another great grandson will be arriving in December!

Louise was predeceased by her parents; her brother Wilbur; her sister Isabelle; her husband Mike (3/24/80); and her daughter Carolyn M. Wildrick (11/14/12).

Louise has resided at The Manor at Woodside for the last 10 years of her life. We would like to thank everyone at The Manor for being so kind and helpful over the years especially Karinn, Toni, Barbara, Heather, Alison, Rosa, Newton and Evelyn; and van drivers Mike, Jan, and Marcus. We especially thank Eva, Maribel, Gladys, Olivia, Brenda, Maria, Yazmin, and Berenice who over these last few years provided her with extra care so she could remain at "home". A big thank you to the Premiere girls, Shirley, Paulette, Pearline, Gavene, Pansetta, Carlene, and Ann Marie who did 24 hour care for her since January and were with her at the end of life.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12:30-2:30 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm at the funeral home followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Louise's memory to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Please visit her Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
