Teresa and I met in Mark Twain Junior High School. We both were Duran Duran fans, and we were in the same classes and became good friends. At that time the Yonkers Public Schools were changing and a lot of parents took their children out of the Yonkers Public Schools. Teresa went to St. Barnabas and I went to Lincoln High School. We were still friends. One example of how good a friend Teresa was, is that Teresa came to my sweet sixteen party at the Italian City Club on McLean Ave even though she had broken her foot and was on crutches, she came. She had told me," I wouldn't miss your party, chicka." That's a real friend for you! I will never forget that! There aren't many friends like that!
She was a genuine friend. We had lost touch throughout the years but, then thanks to social media she found me on facebook. After that we started chatting on the phone and through text mssages and through private messages through facebook. It was just like we were many years ago. The say that with some friends you can just pick up where you left off from and that is how it was with Teresa. It was funny because she recalled something from 8th grade, that I didn't even remember. She told me that something happened in our art class (which was our home room class) and that I threw a bottle of glue and it hit our teacher, Mrs. Lemcheck, in the butt. I laughed when she told me this because somehow I didn't remember that.
A while ago we met up for lunch and got to see each other after many years and we caught up with each other. It was such a great time. After that we kept in contact via text messages, facebook messages and chatting on the phone. She had told me about all of the medical things that she was going through and remained positive throuhout it all. She told me about the love of her life, Dean and about her wonderful two children.
Teresa was a genuine, caring and all around great friend. I am proud to have known her and I will miss her dearly.
