I met Bernie when I was 13...his first business...my first job..1957..soft ice cream palace in Fishkill Plains...near Stringham Mills...he was kind and taught me so much...had to fire me...I was only 13 and had no "working papers"...
Bernie knew my parents and they knew him and loved him.
When I was a young bride.Bernie taught me about the good cuts of meat and how to cook them..I, like so many other young brides , trusted his counsel ...( guess you had to be there...when being a Homemaker was a thing of pride..and a joy..Bernie knew...)
Bernie was a loyal friend to my son , until he was not able to make his own choices. Always a good friend.
I look for him..and I always will...I mourn him, and I always will...as will anyone who knew his good counsel..
Even though we saw each other only when the Irish Soda Bread was deliverd..we knew ..we were the very best of friends.
Surely this good and loving man will rest in peace.
Until we see each other again..you are in my heart.
Doris
