Obituary for Jo-Ann M. Yeno (Nicholson)

Jo-Ann M. Yeno (Nicholson)
Jo-Ann M. Yeno, 52, a resident of Rhinebeck since 2003 and formerly of LaGrangeville, Millbrook and Yonkers, died on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born in Bronxville on July 11, 1962, she was the daughter of the late William and Olga Zacchi Nicholson. Jo-Ann received her nursing degree from Dutchess Community College and worked in the nursing field for several years. She then was employed as a driver, and 19A instructor and trainer in Dutchess County. She loved animals and often volunteered with the Dutchess County SPCA. A talented artist, she also enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, NASCAR (especially Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.) and motorcycles. Jo-Ann was proud of her tattoos including her AM-JAM award winning back piece.
On July 18, 2004 at Christo’s in Poughkeepsie, Jo-Ann married James W. “Skip” Yeno who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter, Jaime Lynn Hapeman of Rhinebeck; her sisters and their husbands, Vittoria and Daniel Gilleo of Wappingers Falls, Donna and Chris Calli of Wallkill; and her beloved nephews, Anthony, Vincent and Vito.
“One light has gone out. The most beautiful star no longer shines bright. Our hearts are forever broken and will never be healed. Riposo tra le braccia del Signore.”
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Monday at 10am at the funeral home followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538. For driving directions, online condolences and memorial donations, please visit Jo-Ann’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
