Obituary for Thomas Anthony Egan Sr.

Thomas Anthony Egan, Sr., a 30-year local area resident and formerly of Mahopac and Shrub Oak, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He was 64.
Son of the late Gerald A. and Shirley (Hellgren) Egan, he was born in Yonkers on November 16, 1955. In 1974, he graduated from Lakeland High School.
Thomas worked as an electrician for 30 years and was a member of the Local #3 I.B.E.W. (Queens). He retired in 2008.
He enjoyed working around the house and his yard, but more than anything else, he loved spending time with his family & friends. He most especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren, who affectionately loved their “Poppy”.
On November 15, 1986, Thomas married Christy A. Addie in Carteret, New Jersey. Christy survives at home in Beacon.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Tracy Egan of Beacon; his son, Tommy Egan, Jr. & his wife Jamie of Hyde Park; his son, Kevin Egan & his fiancé Alyssa Kessler of Beacon; his grandchildren, Kyle, Lucy, and Ryan; his brothers, Jeffrey Egan & his wife Annie, Gerald Egan, and Andrew Egan; his sister-in-law, Donna Lurker; his brother-in-law, Art Addie & his wife Corinne; also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents as well as his son, Ryan Arthur Egan (1995).
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 9th at the funeral home, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
