Obituary for Gina Grace Puleo

FISHKILL – Gina Grace Puleo, a local area resident since 1984 and formerly of Yonkers, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 following a courageous battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. She was 53.
She was born in Yonkers on September 24, 1965 and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1983. Gina attended Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, where she earned a master’s degree in business administration. She worked for Cartus Corporation in Danbury, where she served as a supervisor.
Gina will be remembered for her loving and generous spirit, as she always went out of her way to help others. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never failed in brightening the moods of those around her. She had a great appreciation for animals and treasured her pets. She valued the importance of fitness and was also tech savvy, often lending her knowledge to family & friends. Her loved ones will always appreciate Gina’s role as the “family event planner”, as she organized all of the family’s gatherings and get-togethers. In addition to her career at Cartus, she also worked at the Clove Creek Dinner Theatre in Fishkill. At the age of 5, Gina performed at the New York Metropolitan Opera in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in the role of the main character’s daughter. She remained a cast member for many years during her childhood. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church, in Fishkill.
Gina is survived by her father, Robert Puleo, Sr., of Fishkill; her brother, Robert Puleo, Jr. of New Rochelle; her sister, Lisa Puleo & her partner Michael Ferraro of Bedford Hills; her aunts, Anna Giuliano of Montgomery and Jeanne Giuliano of Hopewell Junction; and many cousins and other loving relatives & friends. She is also survived by her faithful companions, Lola and Scooby.
She was predeceased by her mother, Theresa Giuliano Puleo, on July 12, 2018.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 22 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery & Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
