Cynthia A. Raccosta
Cynthia A. Raccosta, 59, a resident of Hopewell Junction, died on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born on February 23, 1959 in Suffern, Cynthia was the daughter of Alfred and Barbara (Collins) Carlson. On August 21, 1993 in Cold Spring, Cynthia married the love of her life, Joseph “Rock” Raccosta who survives at home.
Cynthia was Director of Rehab Services at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was avid reader, Yankees and Giants fan, and loved watching her girls play softball and field hockey. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach especially Martha's Vineyard, as well as enjoying a nice glass of Chardonnay.
In addition to her husband, Joe Rock, Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Jamie Raccosta who is studying to become a Physician Assistant at Springfield College in MA, and Kellie Raccosta who is studying Fashion Business at FIT; her father, Alfred Carlson and his wife Judy; her siblings, Connie, Robin, Cristin, and Skip; and numerous friends and family. She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Carlson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
