Gary J. Morgan, 67, an area resident since 2001 and formerly of Yorktown Heights, died on October 31, 2018 at his home.

Born in Salem, OR on August 24, 1951, he was the son of John and Myrtle (Wetzel) Morgan. Gary was employed as a Conductor for Metro North Railroad for 31 years until his retirement in 2007. In addition to Metro North, he had also worked for Amtrak and Conrail.

Gary was an avid Texas Holdem Player, and also enjoyed playing chess and performing magic tricks. He was larger than life and loved to make people laugh.

On May 30, 1993 in Croton-on-Hudson, Gary married Lisa (Guisti) Morgan. He is also survived by his children, Andrea Morgan of Colorado Springs, CO, Tracy Morgan of Colorado Springs, CO, Alexis Morgan of Poughkeepsie, and Matthew Morgan of Poughkeepsie; his siblings and their spouses, Randy and Donna Morgan of Ballston Spa, and Kathy and Grant Staats of Schodack; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Benjamin Morgan.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 5pm.
