Obituary for Harry Dale Armstrong

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Harry Dale Armstrong, 88, an area resident since 1954, passed away at home on October 25, 2018 surrounded by his close friends.

Born in Ridgeway, PA on June 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Bert and Bessie (Lyle) Armstrong. Harry grew up in Scotia and Binghamton, and graduated from Binghamton North High School and Delhi Agricultural College. He then served as a Specialist 2 in the US Army.

Harry is survived by his brother, Daniel Armstrong and his wife Estelle; his sister, Carole Schumacker; many nieces and nephews; and his extended family, Karen and Michael Flynn, their son, Jason Safran, and their daughter, Tanya Sheldon, her husband Ryan, and daughter, Victoria Carpio; Thomas Flynn and his sons, Andrew and Brandon; Sharon Hafner; his good friend, Richard Monroe; and his computer friends.

In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his sons, Austin and Robert Armstrong; and his close friends, Koreen Flynn.

Harry was a longtime member of the Grange #902 in Wappingers Falls. He was well loved, and had a unique sense of humor. Harry will be remembered for his kindness.
