Obituary for Robin W. Hall

Robin W. Hall, 64, of Highland NY, died on October 20, 2018 at Fieldston Lodge Care Center.

Born on November 6, 1953 in Chittenden, Vermont, he was the son of the late Raymond I. and Geraldine (Myott) Hall. As a child in 1959, Robin and his parents moved to NY. He would live most of his adult life in Wappingers Falls; however, he moved to Highland in 2011.

Robin worked many jobs in his lifetime. He was a self-employed truck driver from 1974-1990 and then later worked for Roe Movers/United Van Lines from 1990-2000. Robin grew up around big rig 18 wheelers and was one of the best drivers around. He also worked as an operating engineer at East Coast Industrial Services, Inc. from 2000-2008 until he was forced to retire due to illness.

When Robin wasn’t working, he enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. His other hobbies included fishing, cooking, playing darts and shooting pool. Robin was also a car guy. He loved classic cars, especially his ’64 Thunderbird. Robin was great at fixing cars, and just about everything else too, although he would often joke that he didn’t know how he did it.

When he could no longer do many of the things he loved, Robin turned to Facebook where his quick wit, intelligence, sense of humor, and compassionate nature, as well as his cooking skills, endeared him to many. Not only staying in touch with his family and friends, he also made several new long-lasting friendships. His absence has left a void in many hearts and he will be sorely missed by all.

Robin is survived by his daughter, Laura Hall and her partner Richard Kane Jr; his son, Raymond Hall and his fianceé Raechelle McGowan; his grandchildren, Tristessa, Hailey, and Richard; two ex-wives, Bernadette Paonessa and Janet Stavrides; a step-mother, Linda Hall, half-sisters Sarah Hall and her partner Barry, and Jamie Hall and her partner Derrick; his aunt, Alice Griff; nieces Alexis and Kenzi; nephew Dylan; grand-niece Raylynn; and cousins Steve, Barb, Debbie, Ann, Mike, Brad and Lisa.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 1, from 4-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Please visit Robin’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
