WAPPINGERS FALLS - Ruth Helen Young, 72, an area resident since 1980, died on October 10, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in the Bronx on July 20, 1946, she was the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Devine) Young. Ruth dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She began her calling at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hoboken, NJ and then at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. She retired in 2009 from Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Ruth is survived by her lifetime friend, Patricia A. Martin; her sister, Sr. Anne Daniel, OP of Hopewell Junction; her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Joanne Young; her nephews and niece, Daniel, Ryan and Natalie Young.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 1-5 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
