Obituary for Joseph R. Vignola

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Joseph R. Vignola, 94, an area resident for 10 years and formerly of Jefferson Valley, died peacefully on October 2, 2018 at his home.

Born in Yonkers on August 25, 1924, he was the son of John and Catherine (Cazzola) Vignola. Joseph proudly served our country in the US Navy during World War II. He had been employed as a Milkman for 25 years with Imperial Milk, and then worked for 20 years for the NYS Department of Transportation in Millwood. He was the member of the East Fishkill Seniors.

On April 19, 1947 in the Bronx, Joseph married Ann (Cosentino) Vignola who predeceased him on April 3, 1996. Joseph is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Evelyn Vignola of Bradenton, FL; his grandchildren, Karen and Mark Condro of Hopewell Junction, John and Ellen Vignola of Fishkill, and Denise and James Amodei of Mount Kisco; and his great-grandchildren, Derek, Nicholas and Riley. He was also predeceased by his brother, Frank Vignola.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers with military honors.
