Obituary for James W. Gambino

James W. Gambino, 62, an area resident since 1985 and formerly of Putnam Valley, died suddenly on September 20, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Queens on January 9, 1956, he was the son of Samuel and Blanche (Banal) Gambino. Jim was the owner and operator of Hudson Dental Studio in Hopewell Junction for the last 30 years. He was an avid mountain biker, and enjoyed kayaking, hiking and playing the guitar.

On August 16, 1975 at St. Columbanus Church in Cortlandt Manor, Jim married Gwendolyn Taylor who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, James Gambino and Allyson Levine of Albany, Rebecca and Jason Ruffo of Riverview, FL, and Jared Gambino of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Hudson and Grayson Ruffo; his siblings, Samuel Gambino, John Gambino and Nini Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a service at 7pm.
