Obituary for Edward J. Bartusiak

Edward J.  Bartusiak
FISHKILL – Edward J. Bartusiak, a local area resident since 1977 and formerly of Yonkers, died at home in Fishkill on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was 94.

Son of the late Konstanty and Eleanora (Gogola) Bartusiak, he was born in Yonkers on October 5, 1923. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the South West Pacific theater, during World War II. He was honorably discharged from service in 1948. Edward was employed by the New York State Thruway Authority for over 30 years. He retired as Supervisor in 1986.

On September 13, 1952, he married Mary A. Harla at St. Casimir Church in Yonkers. He was predeceased by his wife on January 16, 1994.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Torsiello and husband Dennis of West Orange, NJ; his daughter, Marianne Boyer of Hopewell Junction; his son, Edward J. Bartusiak of Munford, TN; and his son, John Bartusiak of Fishkill; his grandchildren: Brian Torsiello and wife Christine, Lauren Gwyn-Williams and husband Gregory along with their daughter Gracie, Diana Boyer along with her children Aaliyah and Quintin, Daniel Boyer, Rebecca L. Courtney and husband Wesley, Emily B. Bartusiak, Sean T. Bartusiak and wife Lena along with their son Jordan, and Johnny Blaise Bartusiak; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, parents, four brothers: John, Walter, Stanley, and Stanley; and son-in-law Gary C. Boyer.

A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at Edward’s parish, St. Mary, Mother of the Church, in Fishkill. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
