Obituary for Margaret DiCesare (Romano)

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Margaret DiCesare, 90, an area resident since 1960 and formerly of Yonkers, died on July 4, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.

Born in Yonkers on May 19, 1928, she was the daughter of Gerald and Angelina (Romano) Alfano. Margaret had worked in the accounting department at the Walter Karl Company for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and volunteered with the Comfort Corner, sewing comfort pads for those at Rosary Hill, and with the Semper Fi Parents of Hudson Valley, working on the thank you quilts for military service members.

Margaret's main focus in life was caring for her family. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and was instrumental in their lives and upbringing.

On November 16, 1947 in Yonkers, Margaret married the love of her life, Paul J. DiCesare, who predeceased her on October 6, 2008. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gerard and Marjorie DiCesare of Eustis, FL, Phylliss and Dominic Maselli of Fishkill, and Diana and David Estremera of Wappingers Falls; her grandsons, Nicholas Maselli and his wife Lisa, Justin Estremera, Tyler Estremera and Jay Kirschner; and her great-grandchildren, Santo and Michaela Maselli. She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Alfano.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
