Obituary for Elizabeth B. "Betty" Laubenheimer

Elizabeth B. “Betty” Laubenheimer, a resident of Fishkill for 70 years, died on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 96 years old.

Daughter of the late Albert and Anna Rogers, Betty was born in Hudson, NY. As a child, her family relocated to Beacon, where she remained until 1948 when she moved to Fishkill.

She worked as a line operator at AT&T for many years, serving at the company’s locations in Carmel, Beacon, and Poughkeepsie. Following her retirement in 1982, she became a member of the AT&T Pioneers, a volunteer non-profit organization for the company’s retirees. Betty was a dedicated parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where she attended daily Mass and participated with the Legion of Mary prayer group. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Melzingah Chapter, in Beacon.

Survivors include her son, Gregory R. Laubenheimer and his wife Maureen of LaGrangeville; her grandson, Gregory S. Laubenheimer and his wife Justine of Wappingers Falls; her granddaughter, Dawn A. Laubenheimer of Virginia; her grandson, Scott M. Laubenheimer and his wife Ellen of Warsaw, NY; her great-grandchildren, David, Ryan, Alison, Taylor, and Abigail; her niece and nephews, BethAnn Kohrhamer of Pennsylvania, Eric Kohrhamer of Florida, and Henry Kohrhamer of California; her dear friend and longtime companion, Rudy Sekely of Hopewell Junction; and many other loving relatives & friends.

Betty was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister, Dorothy Kohrhamer.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 28th at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will be at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary School Angel Fund, P.O. Box 780, Fishkill, NY 12524.
