Richard James Knight, Sr. 87, a resident of Queensbury since 2013 and previously of Lagrangeville, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at home.

Born on December 3, 1930 in Manhattan, Richard was the son of Marshall B. and Edith M. (Cross) Knight. On April 26, 1954 in Elkton, MD, Richard married Patricia L. Donohue who predeceased him on June 24, 2013.

Richard worked as a lineman/ installer for New York Telephone in Dover, NY for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the LaGrange Methodist Church, American Legion Post 1302, a life member of LaGrange Fireman’s Association, lifetime CEA and lifetime member of Pioneers Phone.

He is survived by his children, Richard Knight and his wife Cheryl of Riverview, FL, Brian Knight and his partner, Liz of Shallott, NC, Timothy Knight and his wife Shelly of Poughkeepsie, Randal Knight and his partner Kelly of Hamburg, and Jill Long and her husband Richard of Queensbury; his several grandchildren; his 6 great grandchildren; and his niece and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 10am at Beekman Cemetery.
