Obituary for
Ralph Joseph Cilento Jr.
HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Ralph Joseph Cilento, Jr., 73, an area resident for three years, and formerly of Putnam Valley, died peacefully in his sleep on June 9, 2018 at his home.
Born in the Bronx on July 21, 1944, he was the son of Ralph J. Cilento Sr. and Alice Mongillo Cilento. Previously, Ralph worked as a supervisor with Con Edison in the Bronx until his retirement in 1998. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and was an accomplished carpenter. An avid fan of oldies music, Ralph loved to play the guitar, and in his younger days, played in the band “The Dreamers.”
On August 7, 1965 in the Bronx, Ralph married Patricia Pizzolla and together they enjoyed 52 years of a loving marriage. He will also be truly missed by his children and their spouses, Maria and Kenneth York of Putnam Valley, Diane Payson of Cortlandt Manor, Ralph and Laura Cilento III of Carmel, and Raymond and Kimberly Cilento of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel, Michael, Victoria, Troy, Christina, Tommy, Giavanna, Stephanie, Sophia, Marina, Raymond Jr., and Kellie; his sisters, Patricia Heinz, Dorothea Fierro, and Joanne Cerbino; his sister-in-law, Roberta Wyrick; his Godsons, William Wyrick and Joseph Heinz; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
