Obituary for Margaret T. "Peggy" Minelli

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Margaret T. “Peggy” "Cookie" Minelli, 74, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 18 years, died on June 3, 2018 at Danbury Regional Hospice. She previously lived in Peekskill and the Bronx.

Peggy was born in the Bronx on March 12, 1944. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Ossining School District for 20 years until her retirement in 2008.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Daniel D. Minelli of Hopewell Junction; her daughter, Danielle Minelli Pagnotta and her husband Chris Pagnotta of Queens; her son, Daniel Minelli and his fiancée Robyn Blau of Copiague, Long Island; her grandchildren, Anthony Minelli, Rebecca Minelli, D.J. Minelli, James Pagnotta and Robert Pagnotta; Robyn’s children, Michael, Jessica, and A.J. Blau; her great-granddaughter, Makenna Minelli; her sister-in-law, Diane Croce; and the extended Minelli family. Peggy was predeceased by her son, Christopher Minelli in 1987; her mother, Marguerite Brummer; her brother, Bill Croce who recently died on May 18, 2018; and her brother, John Brummer.

Peggy was kind and thoughtful. She had a lasting impact on all she encountered. She had many friends over the years from the old neighborhood, jobs and social activities. In recent years she enjoyed attending various community events including line dancing and jewelry making. She was proud of her Irish heritage and liked to travel with her friends. Most of all, Peggy loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
