Joseph McIntyre Obituary - Hopewell Junction, New York

Joseph J. McIntyre, age 84, an area resident for 11 years and formerly of Carmel, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on July 16, 1933 in Yonkers to Bridget and John F. McIntyre. He was predeceased by his brothers, the Reverend James McIntyre, O.F.M., John McIntyre, and Thomas McIntyre; and his sister, Mary (McIntyre) Windhorst.

Joe worked for the United States Postal Service in Scarsdale and Yorktown Heights for 42 years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army.

On October 29, 1966 at St. Frances of Rome Church in the Bronx, Joseph married Kathleen (O'Connor). He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen; and his five children, Joseph, Eileen (Matt) Callery, Kathleen, Patrick (Gail), and Colleen (Bill) Gallagher. Joe was blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren: Katie, Maggie, and Timmy Callery, Courtney and Maura McIntyre, and Erin, Joseph and Brendan Gallagher.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
