VERBANK - James H. Sewell, 55, an area resident for 23 years, died suddenly on April 16, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Pompano Beach, FL on January 30, 1963, he was the son of George and Bonnie (Cruickshank) Dritsas. Jim was employed by the Westchester County Department of Corrections, retiring as the Assistant Warden on February 28, 2018. An avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.

On May 13, 1995 in Beacon, Jim married the love of his life, Diane Lazarou, who survives at home. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by his children, Alexandra and Nicholas; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Maria Dritsas; his sister, Chrissy Kline; his aunt and uncle, John and Pat Dritsas; and his nieces and nephews, Amanda, Brooke, Thomas Jr., Adrianna, Dante, Niko and Andreas.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
