Obituary for Michael DeMeo

FISHKILL – Michael DeMeo, 78, died on April 13, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Yonkers on August 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Angelina (Tenore) DeMeo. He served in the US Army. Michael retired from Metro-North Railroad in New York City after 30 years of service.

On November 4, 1962 in Yonkers, he married Carol (Junjulas) DeMeo who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their spouses, Angelina Bugli and Andrew Brletrick of Northern Cambria, PA and Lisa and Dan Spiegel of Wallkill, NY; his grandchildren Matthew Bugli, Sara Brletrick and Keenan Spiegel and his wife Laura Bill Spiegel; his siblings, John DeMeo of Yonkers and Rose Penna of Yonkers; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Antoinette “Dettie” Pellegrino, Lily Penna, Nicholas “Junie” DeMeo, Frances DeMeo, and Anthony DeMeo.

He was a member of the American Legion and he loved spending time with his large extended family, most of all his grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by military honors.
