Obituary for Anthony J. Battaglia

Anthony J. Battaglia
FISHKILL - Anthony J. Battaglia, 65, an area resident since 1993 and formerly of Mount Vernon, died surrounded by his family on March 31, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center.

Born in Mount Vernon on January 13, 1953, he was the son of Tony Battaglia of Honesdale, PA and the late Gloria (Nastasi) Battaglia. Anthony worked for the Mount Vernon Board of Education in grounds maintenance for 24 years until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed taking family vacations, sports, playing cards and daily numbers, taking casino trips, and listening to rock music. However, more than anything, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He never missed any of his grandchildren's school performances. Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was kind, generous, and compassionate human being, and was loved by every life he touched.

On September 7,1974 in Mount Vernon, Anthony married Linda (Lillo) who survives at home. In addition to his wife and father, he is also survived by his daughter Jennifer Battaglia of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Adrianna and Kiana Dugger; his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Chris Brengel of Honesdale, PA; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Annette and Gary Barnes, Nicky Lillo, and Rosalie Lillo; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother; his brother-in-law, Robert Lillo; and his mother and father-in-law, Anna and Joseph Lillo.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill with a funeral service at 7:30pm.
