HILLIARD, OH - Ethel Theresa Fleming, 69, died on March 10, 2018 at home. She previously lived in Yonkers, Hopewell Junction, and Pleasant Valley.

Born in Yonkers on January 14, 1949, Ethel was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ethel (Hickey) Anderson. She retired as Supervising Probation Officer from Westchester County in 2010 after 30 years of service.

On June 15, 1980 in Hopewell Junction, Ethel married James F. Fleming who predeceased her in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Meghan A. Fleming of Columbus, OH; her son, James F. Fleming, III and his wife Nicola Dixon of Sydney, Australia; her grandson, Patrick J. Dixon of Sydney, Australia; her sister, Katherine Blackford and her husband John of SC; her nieces and nephews, Andrew and Jenn Anderson, Cathy and Joe DiBisceglie, Andrea and Larry Schwartz, Karen and Peter Armenti; Kate Blackford, and John Christopher Blackford and Angelle Whitman; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was also predeceased by her brothers, Richie and Andrew Anderson.

Ethel had been a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and drinking Guinness. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th from 1-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 19th at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
