Condolence From: Jean & Bob Powden
Condolence: Uncle Eddie was loved. A hero to us in many ways, a family man, soldier who fought for our freedom, a police officer keeping our streets safe and mostly for being one of our role models in our lives after dad passed away. He was the vision of strength and courage. He will always be cherished as to what family love is all about. Even though you are in heaven I know you will be watching over your family and guiding them down the path of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Pat, Chris, Micheal and the rest of the family. Rest in Peace Uncle Eddie, you are loved and will be missed.🙏 Love Jean, Bob, Tabatha, Desi and Gavin❤️

Condolence From: Armen Balemian
Condolence: I was very distressed to hear of Ed's passing Ed was a good man and a good friend. He was a lot of fun to talk to. He was always honest witty and compassionate. I guess that part of the reason that we got along so well was because we were both Bronx boys and that makes you part of a tough exclusive club. Ed sold me the house that I live in now. Even after having settled in to our home for 18 years, I still always see "bits" of Ed everywhere in the house. It was the best investment that I ever made because eventually I was able to provide a good home for my wife when I married her eight years ago. Ed made that all possible for me and I am eternally grateful. I will sorely miss him. Lusine and I send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. God bless Ed and the family.

Condolence From: Greg & Dawn Hernandez and Family
Condolence: Our sincere condolences to the entire Modugno family especially Aunt Pat. Dawn has fond memories of Uncle Eddie growing up that will last a lifetime. I am left with a smile on my face as the last time I saw him he was enjoying a day of baseball watching his great nephew play baseball at Vassar College with his son Christopher and grandsons Christopher Jr. and Patrick. He told me afterward he really enjoyed it. I think this poem is a comforting way of looking at death. Although someone is disappearing to us, they are appearing to others waiting for him. The Sailing Ship What is dying? I am standing on the seashore. A ship sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. He is an object and I stand watching him Till at last he fades from the horizon, And someone at my side says, “He is gone!” Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all; He is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as he was when I saw him, And just as able to bear his load of living freight to its destination. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in him; And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “He is gone”, There are others who are watching him coming, And other voices take up a glad shout, “There he comes” – and that is dying. God Speed Uncle Eddie and we thank you for your service to your country and your city. Greg, Dawn, Matthew, Bradley and Katie Hernandez

Condolence: My dear friend and most faithful NYPD Street Crime Partner, Eddy you will be missed beyond measure. True to his gentle and ever giving spirit and heart he was moved and concerned about me when I came to see him and pray with him and he told me "don't cry" as he wiped my tears. I am sure you will keep a protective watch for your family and friends until we all meet again on Glory's side.
