Obituary for Burton Schwartz

Burton Schwartz, 89, an area resident for 20 years and previously of Las Cruzes, NM, died on March 3, 2018 at Lutheran Care Center.

Born on April 17, 1928 in Brooklyn, Burton was the son of Harry and Lena (Kantorwitz) Schwartz.

Burton was an avid Bridge player, stamp collector and rock hound. He loved doing crossword and sodoku puzzles.

Burton is survived by his wife, Vera Schwartz; his children from his first marriage, Hillary Silverstein and her husband Kenneth of Princeton and Charles Schwartz of Manhattan; his daughter through his second marriage, Andrea Corbett and her husband John of LaGrangeville; his grandchildren, Sherri and Jefferey Silverstein, Kevin, Anthony and Margaret Corbett; his siblings, Rita Rubenstein and Diane Silvey; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday at 12:30 at Sinai Chapels 162-05 Horace Harding Expy, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365 followed by interment at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
