Obituary for Helen Figarella (Bonnen)

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Helen Figarella, 87, an area resident since 2006 and formerly of Yonkers, died on February 13, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Manhattan on November 8, 1930, she was the daughter of Arthur and Sara Bonnen. Helen was a long-time parishioner of Annunciation Parish in Crestwood.

On September 10, 1947 in the Bronx, Helen married Alfred Figarella, Jr. who predeceased her on November 16, 2005. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Nancy and Edward DiMuro of Poughkeepsie, Linda Castriota of Stamford, CT, and Robert and Jill Figarella of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Jason Castriota, Lauren Lee, Gabrielle DiMuro, Jessica Sherman, Diana DiMuro, Nicholas Figarella, and Daniel Figarella; and her great-grandson, Brian.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
