Condolences

Condolence From: Darren Treacy
Condolence: A Tribute to My Father. Being one of four children, I fondly remember the core of gentle kindness in my father. I remember all the long walks in south Yonkers, and him proudly showing off his kids to all of his neighbors and friends. I remember the sounds of music coming from the Mr. Softee Ice Cream TruckI and your pockets full of change, to buy a round. I remember dad going out for the Herald Statesman newspaper , and returning with those fresh made Black and White cookies from Getty Square. I remember going to see the massive Christmas tree in the Square and shopping in HL Greens and Grants Department stores. I remember all of the trips to the Bronx Zoo and our favorite, Rye Playland. I remember going to the movies at the Park Hill Theatre, and staring at the huge Chandelier.. I remember walking with my father and brother,to the Post Street park on the Corner of Elliott Avenue, where my father would lean way back and throw a tennis ball way in the air and my brother and I took turns catching it, as it seemed to fall from the clouds. I remember my father being so proud of his Irish heritage, and watching the St. Patrick's Day Parade on the building stoop on South Broadway, I loved to hear about his childhood memories of growing up on Stanley Avenue with his four brothers and sister. I remember playing the shuffle board at Hermans Grill on Palisade Avenue. I remember all the Met games. Most of all, I remember how hard you worked, and always had that great smile on that beautiful Irish face. So many fond memories. Dad, you touched so many hearts, and always kept a smile on all of our faces! We Love You, and miss you so much! Your Proud Son........there, Darren.
