Obituary for Blanca L. Mesler

NEW HAMBURG – Blanca L. Mesler, 87, a longtime area resident, died on January 6, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Puerto Rico on December 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Luis and Carmen (Silva) Castellon. On January 17, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, Blanca married Elden Willis Mesler who predeceased her on May 5, 1999.

Blanca had been employed as a teacher for the Florida School District for several years and worked for the Newburgh School District until she retired.

Blanca is survived by her children, Sharon Celentano and her husband James of Wallkill, Steven Mesler and his wife Debra of Chester, Stacey Mesler and her husband Colin Cuite of New Hamburg, and Sean Mesler of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren, Kevin Celentano and his wife Vanessa, Ashley Mesler, Halie Mesler, Aidan Cuite, Elizabeth Cuite, and Owin Cuite; her great-grandchildren, Tristan and Aubrey; and her sister, Olga Castellon; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
