Precious Mother

More precious than gold is a mother's love because you wear it inside and it stays with you forever.

You showed me your love through all the sacrifices you made for me growing up and as an adult- like when you gave up a job that you loved in N.Y. to come out to CA to live with us when Kim was a baby and our babysitter fell through a week before I was to go back to teach. You stayed with us for a year and we had so much fun having you with us.

I remember you in CA going outside in your bathrobe and slippers one cold, dark and foggy night because our back gate had been left opened and Jazz got out. I followed you down the street in my car as you followed Jazz for two blocks then grabbed her collar saying gruffly," You're coming with me!" And you walked that big dog back home, refusing to get into the car! A quote from Shakespeare describes you best. "Although she be little she is fierce.'

Above all, your love for God and your prayers for us every day sustained you and us. Talking to you each day by phone brought me close to you although I was usually thousands of miles away. When you passed Heath asked me, "Who will pray for us now?" I answered,"I will, but Grandma is our angel now and she's always with each of us."

I still miss you every day, precious Mother, because although I gained no earthly riches the gold of your love is a gift that will stay with me forever.

Rest in blessed peace, Mother

I'll love you forever

RuthAnn
