Obituary for Stanley S. Brown

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Dr. Stanley S. Brown, DDS, an area resident since 1969 and formerly of West Haverstraw, died on September 2, 2017 at his daughter’s home.

Born in Brooklyn on September 30, 1936, he was the son of Max and Anna (Green) Brown. He proudly served our country as a Captain in the US Air Force. Dr. Brown owned and operated Hopewell Dental Group for many years, treating local families for years. An avid photographer, he also raised pigeons and harness horses at Monticello Raceway.

Dr. Brown is survived by his children, Robert Brown of Poughkeepsie, Wendy Brown of Hopewell Junction, Steven Brown and his wife Michelle of Highland, and Scott Brown of Kiev, Ukraine; his grandchildren, Daniel, Josh, Justin and Alexa; his former wife, Susan L. Romanyuk; and his niece, Melissa Horowitz. He was predeceased by his grandson, Kevin Brown on September 4, 2016; and his sister, Florence Cohen.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will follow at 8pm with military honors.
