Spreading The joy

Rita had a special way of "spreading the Joy of life." Since I met her in 1979, we always had fun with story's that ended in laughter no matter what the conditions. Even back when the Post office was moved into a muddy, mucky awful, horrible trailer, Rita was able spread joy and to laugh about it all. We were always running into each other in town at the A&P; talking about caged birds as pets and I finally convinced her to take some of my finches. So I brought over a cage full of breeding finches with nests. She loved them. The idea of having baby birds in home excited her. But when they started having babies like crazy, she told me they were like "rabbits with wings." She truly loved her parrot and bird collections. Still throughout the years, be it Post office, or be it sharing cookies at the Elections Board, Rita was always there, to have a talk, share a story or two, always a positive person, making you feel the "Joy of her Spirit" each time you saw her. And there was always that laughter each time too! She is a major presence of life in Stormville, and will surely be missing. But her "Joy" will live on in everyone who knew her or everyone who met her for many years to come. God Bless her, a wonderful woman, who gave her all to the community and her family. To Rita, Love, Michael
