Obituary for
Robert Emerick Kautz
LAGRANGEVILLE – Robert Emerick Kautz, 71, an area resident for 43 years, died on June 23, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in the Bronx.
Born in the Bronx on May 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Bruno and Anna (Keeser) Kautz. He proudly served in Vietnam as a US Marine. Robert retired in 1999 from the New York City Housing Authority after 28 years of service.
Robert was larger than life and gave the best hugs. He celebrated life with gratitude and style. Robert was a family man who fell in love with his wife daily and gave all of himself to his children and grandchildren.
On October 29, 1967 at St. Francis de Chantel in the Bronx, Robert married his girlfriend Theresa Cassini. His loving wife of 50 years survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Theresa Fetzer and her husband James of Chatham, Dena Veith of Rhinebeck, Jeanine Stormont and her husband Ryan of Cary, NC, and Laraine Kautz-Luhman and her husband Christopher of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Amber, Domenic, Charlie, Robert, Lily, Jack, Emerick, and Vivian; many nieces and nephews and his brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Dolores Cassini. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Al Ciano.
A Mass of Christian Burial followed by military honors will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Avenue, Millbrook. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
