Obituary for Peter A. Letizia

LAGRANGEVILLE – Peter A. Letizia, 82, died on May 17, 2017 shortly after playing in a softball game, where he had a hit at his last up to bat!

Born in Manhattan on April 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Modi) Letizia. He had lived in the Bronx and Mahopac before moving to LaGrangeville in 1976. Peter had owned and operated Tri-County TV in Hopewell Junction for many years. For the past 17 years, he had been employed by Westchester Tractor.

Peter still actively played basketball and softball on a regular basis. He was also an accomplished musician who played the clarinet, guitar, and saxophone. Peter liked reading, especially the Bible and war books. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

On October 5, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in the Bronx, Peter married Josephine (Raimondo) Letizia. His loving wife of 59 years survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Peter C. Letizia of Wappingers Falls, Christine Letizia of Ohio, Frank Letizia of LaGrangeville, and Carlo Letizia and his wife Denise of LaGrangeville; his daughter-in-law, Maura Letizia; his grandchildren, Anthony, Heather, Kaylyn and her husband Mike, Kenneth, Peter, Joseph, Kelly, Grace, Nico, Dee, and Josh; his great-grandchildren Isabella, Theo, and Oscar; his brother, John Letizia and his wife Dolly of Pelham; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his oldest granddaughter, Danielle Lynn, on April 30, 2013.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville.
