The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Burnett can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Sigma Phi Epsilon brother.

We call him Jock. He was a great athlete.  We went to Davis & Elkins College.  One day we took a ride on my motorcycle and Jock rode on the back. We went over to the Water company where there was a large ramp, I don't know what made us do it, but we hit that ramp at about 50 miles an hour and flew through the air for what must have been 30 yards. We made a perfect landing, back tire first then front. If Jock hadn't been on the back to distribute the weight, I would have crashed. It was crazy times and some of the best ever. Although we hadn't communicated much since college, I still consider him a special friend.
