William J  Maher
William J. Maher, 79, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1972, died on April 10, 2017 at Mid Hudson Regional Medical Center.
Born on February 2, 1938 in Yonkers, William was the son of John and Mary (Lubey) Maher. On September 30, 1961 at St. Mary’s Church in Yonkers, William married Joan Eisele who predeceased him on December 22, 2006.
William proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961 and then worked as a phone tech for New York Telephone Company in Manhattan. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and St. Columba in Hopewell Junction. He loved classic cars, hunting, lunch with friends and ocean cruises. He especially loved spending time with his family.
William is survived by his children, William Maher Jr. and his wife Debbie of Poughkeepsie, Theresa Jordan of Wappingers Falls, Stephen Maher and his wife Stacey of Wappingers Falls, Cathy Juhn and her husband Karl of Fishkill, Eileen Montross and her husband Rick of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Danielle Maher, Aly Jordan, Samantha and Kayla Palladino, Jack and Brady Juhn. He was predeceased by his daughter Mary Maher on December 22, 2013.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
